A look at the Icelandic version of Sports Candy ....Bonus sample pages from the LazyTown ‘Sports Candy’ doujin manga. Besides being available in English for the general audience, Vicious Visions and ACT's Latibær ‘Íþróttanammi’ doujin just might very well be the first ever manga publication to be released in the Icelandic (Íslensku) language., a homage to the LT series’ native country that I had pushed strong for. The thin blue lines you are seeing are called ‘bleed lines’ (or bleed points) they are invisible in canvas PDF format when the pages are sent to the publisher. Bleeds tell the printer (and the artist, too) where the art will be trimmed during publication so you NEVER want to put any important art or text outside of those lines cause they will be clipped during the printing process.

Giberish, as your journal entry says, is a very appropriate statement. No, Sokra, I’m not mad at you, but I am however mad at this very lame charade. Not only is it offensive and self-demeaning, but it also insults your self-worth for me, and everyone else, as a quality human being to know that you’re not comfortable with your own true self that you would feel the need to pretend. Just come clean and stop. It’s not attractive at all.
When you feel the need to say thing’s like, ‘being from Iceland, I .....’ and to seek out free online translators (which are always full of errors mind you) in a cheap attempt to be mine, or anyone else’s friend, well then there’s a serious problem going on. For me, it ranks right up there next to art theft. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves because I hate being lied too.
And that’s exactly what it is. It’s not about pretending, it’s about blatantly lying.
It really makes one wonder. Did you really not think that there would be authentic Icelandic people here at the deviantART?! Native people who would most certainly know better? Please.
P.S. How long it take you to look up Icelandic song lyrics online for your new journal, btw?

And though I can't understand Icelandic at all, I definately think it's awesome you're putting forth the effort for Icelandic fans to read this as well. Forget spanish, french and Japanese! Icelandic is the way to go! XD

Having Sports Candy ( Íþrótta Nammi in Iceland) translated to íslensku has been important to me since I first laid pen to paper on the project. I’ve worked various independent manga before and -- to know surprise -- efforts have always been made to translating them into Japanese, or Chinese, even. SC might be in a traditional-type manga format, but LazyTown itself is native to Iceland and had been since the early ‘90's. It belongs to them and so I really, really wanted to have it be available for those facts; that and I had discovered that Iceland has never had a manga available in it’s own language before. That makes Sports Candy a first! *So proud*
