Glad to see other '9' cosplayers out there. While doing this, we really made sure to focus on all the detail, down to the seams even. For me at least, adding the details really help the costume come alive.

we only had 1 night 2 make our costume and we bascialy had 2 work with the few materiels we bought b4 hand and stuff we recycled and found round the house. and we dnt hav sewing machines all our stuff is hand stitched. it was difficult >XP

with the burlap we used--alot of the close stitching we cdnt sew cuz then it'd just fall apart so we used hotglue and i burned myself so much =_= i had a big boil on my finger from the hot glue gun aft the con. did u guyz win anything? we got best youth in Florida super con.

Ouch. Sounds painful. We decided to not use burlap and found a textured cotton.
We actually won best in show at Ikkicon in Austin on New Years.

My 9 buddy and I are planning dome 3 and 4 cosplay.

how did you manage those costumes, especially the faces? O: I'm planning a 2 cosplay and I'd love to know how you guys did it x3

We used onesie patterns for the body of the suit. The faces are just hoods made out of cloth with twine wrapped around the neck. Fairly simple actually. The eyes were PVC pipe with foil cut to look like the iris and black cloth over the pupil area to give the mechanical eye look. Bronze spray paint, hot glue and foam are your best friends. The entire cosplay is mostly cloth, paint, craft foam shaped over a flame and hot glue. XD
We'll start posting some of the in progress pics now that it's not a secret project anymore and I'll try to give a better description in our ikkicon report journal! XD
