This is actually the thing I've been working on for a while! Surprise......!?! It may not look like much but there's 2 things that you must know now! Along with my regular sprites, every now and then I will make a random fighting scene with bigger and more detailed sprites. Whether it's Street Fighter, Smash Bros., Tekken, Naruto, etc. everything is gonna be bigger and more detailed. Also every time I post these, I will post 2 different versions: a clean version and one with special effects like fireballs and what not. That way, you can see one in all it's sprite form and one with all the particles and fires and blah!
Oh yeah....total hours clocked on this: 21.
Ok...now with that done, I'm gonna talk about the sprites. To be honest, both of them were pretty easy lol! I actually made 2 Bison's in the pic but I erased one. The other Bison(his clone) was in the background doing a Psycho Crusher towards Ryu. The tones and shading were kinda hard but I pulled through and made it look pretty good don't you think? I still suck with muscles(Ryu's) so I had to look at some anatomy pics/Third Strike sprites. Colors are mostly taken from the CVS series.....cuz I love the CVS sprites.
Special effects were also sprites I made but I just messed around with them to make them look more "BAM"!

Thank you! This is pretty old now but I'm still happy how it turned out. And yeah spriting is really hard.....took me years to learn and I'm still learning even today!

Some ppl do back then but SFIV basically explains that he didn't die. I guess he was just knocked out cold for years(stayed in a coma maybe) from the Shun Goku Satsu his brother did. Gouki probably thought he killed him and just left Gouken for dead I guess.

I'm going to have to look into those programs you mentioned to someone else. I've been reading some tutorials and I've been doing my sprite practicing through Photoshop (as suggested on the Derek Yu tuts [link] ) but I feel there may be programs out there better suited for the task.

Some ppl have been asking me to do one for a while but I can never have the time to fully finish it but I can show them this one since it's really similar to what I do. I'll still do my tutorial of course but they can use this great one to start off.

Thanks, those sprites were my 2 of the most worked on sprites I've done. Street Fighter is my fav. series so I made sure it turned out really good.

What program do you use to make your sprites? lol you put them out so fast. maybe im just too picky with my things but I've been slowly working on my latest sprite for forever. your stuff is really great, the only bad thing for us pixel artists is its disappointing its a dieing art especially when just as much time is put into sprites as models. keeep up the good work.

The 2 programs I use are EZToon and AnimationShop3. I make the lineart/outline first in EzToon and then color it in AnimationShop3. Lineart takes me about 30 mins - 1 hour and 10 mins while coloring take me hours lol.
And thanks man! I've always loved sprites, pixel art and pretty much anything 2D so its kinda like our duty to try and keep it alive. 2D forever man.

Haha, it's cool man. Paint is still the most widely used program for many spriters so you don't have to worry about that at all.

hey I think that maybe if you had made the sand under Ryu's feet look like Bison was pushing Ryu forwards, it'd made this pic a bit more cooler and dynamic.
Just a tought, you can ignore it if you want.
