Isaac and his lass, Lelia, enjoying a swim. It's a pretty typical love story; you know, boy meets girl, boy likes girl, girl turns out to be bizarre amphibious pond creature... The usual. Despite their differences, the two seem to have fun together.

Lelia's an undine with a cheerful, sort of dorky personality. She's never been shy, but her unique behaviors tend to confuse people of all backgrounds and species. Isaac is easily infatuated by her quirky, optimistic perspective, and together they make a certainly... interesting couple. Humans falling in love with faeries is not unheard of, but it's still considered pretty odd.

This was probably the first acrylic painting I've ever done with such a heavy background. I pretty much just soaked the thing in diluted paint and then layered the foreground colors on top of it. For a while there I was afraid it wouldn't work, but it turned out surprisingly well. I plan to experiment with that technique. The whole thing was drawn to Annie Little's "Fly Me Away."
