I wouldn't normally submit my rough work as a separate deviation, but after I got the pencils for that panel to a workable level for inking... I kept going. It sort of turned into its own piece, so I'm posting it on its own, as well!

It's funny how different the same drawing can look when handled with different media. In the comic, it's much more cartoony, while in pencil, it seems like a much more serious piece (which it was never intended to be -- yeesh, I've never drawn E/C romance in my LIFE), but there you go!

I should add... I think all the practice that went into drawing that full comic paid off. I drew this whole thing (and the whole comic, with the exception of the piano) out of my head. No photo reference whatsoever. It's a good feeling, to be getting better at drawing people from memory -- especially in poses as challenging as a kiss scene! Must keep going!!
