Spent an evening on this one, no reference used.

Inish'Clunmar had led the scattered remnants of his people for thirty years. Thirty years since the great Bloodshed had devastard his race and his homeland. Travelling as wanderers they found little in the way of refuge, suspiscions always arose when the pegasus appeared. As the last of their kind, the Keepers of the Winged Chariots, his people, onec held in awe and seen through envious eyes by the lesser races, now spat upon and hated. They had come full circle, drawn by the beacon of the City once more and as Inish'Clunmar looked over the wasteland he was filled with emotion.
"Pack your C**P up! We're leaving, I got a cousin two towns back, he makes a good living as the head baker for a rich Debrian. Plenty of grass and trees to, not like this S*hole! Who's bright idea was it to come back here again, anyway?"

surely is amazing. even though seems blured it gives you a full sense of what kind of place it is.
the horses are "heavenly" and the fire caughts the eye!

im wondering how can you make such places? each time i try to create a backround it gets too much blured and its a "chaos disaster" XD

With this one, I didn't set out to paint anything specific. It started out with a portion of the image that I liked as I was doodling.
I then expanded the canvas in Photoshop and continued to paint. It went through alot of tweaking and changes before it got to be like what You see here.
I think that having seen alot of fantasy movies, played alot of fantasy/roleplaying games, read alot of books and comicbooks helps alot towards
feeding the imagination, and then being able to paint fantasy images onthe go, like this one
But practice also plays a huge role. So keep on painting, even if it doesn't look like something straight away

All those fires, sparks, dusts and shadows looks like goddamned Mordor, especially mountain reminds me Barad-Dur, but white Pegasi don't look like dark Nazguls...
