Description This beautiful, wildly angled rifle is Quicksilver Industries' latest addition to the firearms market.
This beast fires the hard-hitting 7.62x51mm cartridge, with the new Quicksilver Ind. Patented "Serval" Sabot ® round. This round is yet to be released, but testing is finished.

As per usual, everything is completely ambidextrous:
- The charging handle has a handle on both sides (non-reciprocating)
- The charging handle also functions as a bolt release catch; it will stay in the backwards position when empty
- The magazine release catch is on both sides
- The fire selector is on both sides
- The ejection port is on both sides, one being covered up by the cheek rest

Quicksilver Ind. produces top of the notch firearms made for easy and cheap mass production, while maintaining very high quality.
Our firearms will always be fully ambidextrous, two toned, operator-friendly and accessory-friendly.

This rifle marks my 2-year anniversary on Flickr. So much happened in that time!
Two years ago, I joined the Flickr PMG Group. Now I'm a very active and dedicated Administrator.
I've got to know some amazing people, some even grew out to be friends.
Truth is, I love you guys. I love this group and I love this app.
I try to procrastinate it, but I can't really do so any longer. Real life is coming towards me like a fight train, and I know it.
There will be a time when real life hits me in the face and tells me to grow the fuck up and focus on my future military job instead of PMG. I'm afraid of that, and I can't even deny it. It's the reason so many PMG legends have left in the past, and so many will follow in the future.

That said, in the time I do have left, I will be active, I will design firearms, and I will enjoy the fuck out of it.
So thank you guys, thank you all.

Yours truly,
~ Shockwave

"I will enjoy the fuck out of it"-- That's what she said.

Sorry, couldnt resist.

On a more serious note, I liked watching the WIP video, it gave me tons of inspiration for when I work in PMG.

I don't think it's any more cartoonish than the rest of the rifle.

that's a beautiful weapon.

angles are awesome, and i love how you put them even on the flash hider.

and you're planning to have a job in the military? what exactly, if may i ask? because a firearms designer seems fit to you.

Thanks a lot, my friend!

And I'm going to join the Royal Dutch Airforce, the ground troops to be exact

But building in PMG doesn't really make me a firearms designer

i know, but if you could draw like that then you'd be great for exterior (ergonomics and such) weapon design, i suppose.

You think? I mean, I have no idea how they handle things like that at real firearms companies... I bet they're more after performance and all that than looks, no?

caiobrazil In reply to Shockwave9001 [2013-08-16 17:48:35 +0000 UTC]

at least i think so. when you design a gun in real life, you've got lots of things to worry more than the looks. the parts must work (obviously) and also need to perform well. also, you've got to think about the combat situation. the soldier won't like to have a rifle that will fail all the time. the rifle may (and probably will) be carried andused in deep jungle, snowy, and desert environments, so you need to think about how it handles water, mud, sand and freezing temperatures, as well as toughness. by making a reliable, easy-to-use, sturdy and comfortable rifle, not only you are giving better gear to your soldiers, you're making them more confident. if you give a soldier a weapon he trusts, he will perform much better.

and after that, you've got ergonomics, handling, etc.

but let's say, many of the rifles we find are pretty beautiful, and there are some ugly ones, but which didn't come into service. so i assume beautifulness also plays a role?

also, i don't remember who said it, but there's a quote: "if a plane or gun is not beautiful, then it probably doesn't work well."

and if you are aiming for exports, you want something eye-appealing to catch the impression of your potential costumers.

at least that's what i think.
