It was raining, so I broke out the water colors and did this. Not quite sure just what I was thinking... Does it even LOOK like a rose? I think everyone tries to draw a rose at least once.... I present to you my feeble attempt. If anything it certainly is different. It needs work though. The colors didn't come out quite the way I wanted them to. ~sigh~Creative title eh?

Its not up close but at a distance which makes this watercolour really have an impact on one's senses...

You did a really nice job with this! I love the soft colors and the delicate brushstrokes you used to render the entire shape. The texture works really well in the leaves. Great job!
BTW, you mentioned that you used watercolors, but you flagged it as a digital work. What was your process?

I think you can edit a category you put a dev in, but I think yours is in the right category. Since you created it only using the computer, it should be under digital art. The section that I put mine in are traditional art->

For some reason I'm really drawn to the leaves. They're so shiny and.. leafy..

Yeah about the leaves, are they distracting? Their colors are a little more vibrant than the petals of the flower, but they weren't intended to be the emphasis. In short, I fucked up, but was too lazy to go back and dull them down a little.
(yes leaves tend to be...leafy XD)
In my art class, I have only gotten to use water colors once and when we did use them they were the cheep Crayola kind. I felt like I had been downgraded to like, kindgerarden. FINGERPAINTING ANYONE?!11??!1

:3 No, the rose(petals) are definitely the center of focus. I just like shiny things. >_> I remember when I did some rose thing in EBONY PENCIL a few years ago.. didn't turn out ANYWHERE NEAR as good as yours. XD
Oh, oh~ I'm taking Art III next year.. :3 Are you in Art II Pre AP? Or just Art II? or Art I? DD: We need to be in the same class so I can mess up your drawings. And stuff. 8th grade was so long ago (for me).
I hate cheap watercolors. I notice that Crayola only put like, HALF AN INCH of water color stuff into each.. circle thing. Two little dips of your brush and your already scraping the bottom. X_X

Ebony is HARD for me. I'm not as good with black and white shading. I'm mean, I'm ok I guess, but my digital art is far better than the stuff I do in regular. At least I think so. I guess that's cause I can decide what I do.
Yup, I'm in advanced art right now, so I guess that means... I don't know if I'll be in your class! D: I want to be so bad! If you're in regular art and in your third year, and I'm in my second year but in advanced... ISN'T THAT THE FREAKIN' SAME?!
I got COMPLIMENTED by my art teacher on my scratchboard project!!! I think her face cracked a little. XD God forbid she make me feel good about myself.
