This version of the T-65 looks very much like the direct successor both to the Incom/Subpro ARC fighters and the Z-95 Headhunters of the clone wars, in fact IMO it suggests those manufacturers continued to collaborate for far longer before the acrimonious breakup - assuming they even did in your timeline! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

The various design cues (rounded wings & struts, relatively ungainly profile, curved canopy, etc) speak of a design that emerged much earlier from the drafting table in the timeline; I'm guessing driven by the needs of the ongoing war.

I also imagine the humpbacked hull culminates in a rear gunner - I wonder if this is more fighter-bomber than SS fighter?

Great in-flight action shot, though I think in this case it would be improved with some of the fighter's sister craft in the background, from various angles and in different stages of locking S-foils in position e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=" (Wink)"/>

You would be correct that the T-65A is the next Incom fighter following the ARC-170 in the FaSotS setting. Despite the split between Incom and Subpro, it shares similar conventions of their previously collaborated designs. It was also intended to hint at the continuation of the Clone Wars for longer than the original EU/Legends (and now, canon) settings, which is why it comes across as bulkier craft. Despite this, however, the Republic X-Wing remains a single-piloted craft (alas, no tail-gunner).

Adam intends to do a shot involving a fleet of this setting's fighters and capital ships at some point, so you'll probably get the chance to see this and others from a different frame of reference. Appreciate the compliments and the commentary!

It certainly makes it's lineage very clear; I'd say he did a very effective job portraying it!  Shame about the lack of tailgunner; I'd gotten quite onboard with that idea. Maybe a design variant...

That shot will be awesome to see, I look forward to it! Always loved the fleet assembly shots in the OT.

You and Adam keep pumping out these awesome updates and I'm sure myself and everyone else will be eager to keep up the compliments!     Looking forward to your next timeline piece, it's great to "see" how everything is diverging.

I understand why you went with all those round edges, kinda a nod to the ARC-107, but they make it feel more Star Trek and less Star Wars.

The Republic X-Wing is pulled from an Infinities timeline where the Republic never fell (mainly due to Anakin and Mace tackling Sidious together). It seemed like a natural progression from the Z-95 and ARC-170 to this. And that was what I requested Adam to create. Thank you for the feedback!

Honestly, it's so well done as an in-between that I can totally see this being the actual proof-of-concept the Incom design team gave to the bosses, before the engineers got to working.

Like the YF- version of a F- fighter, in USAF terms.
