This is lake Astotin taken late at night with ~schon. Across the lake you can see the glow from the city in the distance. It created an amber color. This is a single shot that I added a texture layer to. I like how the stars peek through the texture. This is the first time I had decent results with a texture layer. Many of my previous attempts didn't work so well.Let me know what you think.

Your manipuation Looks very professional and there's no sign that it's actually manipulated.
I just love the sky you created, it almost Looks like it's on fire.
On account of the warm colours there's a magical and fanciful atmosphere.

Yeah that is the image I saw in my mind when I saw the city lights in the distance. I reminded me of a forest fire. I hoped that the texture layer I added would show that. Glad you think so. Thanks!

I must say that it's awesome! It looks like a fire is going on deep in the forest and that it approaches the lake, and the ash clouds are just going up in the sky covering the stars more and more. Your are awesome

Thank you! I am so grateful for your wonderful compliments! The original photo was very simple and plain. It needed to be spiced up. So that is what I tried to do.

Yah, I do understand what you mean. Sometimes, I have the same urge if I find my background painting too plain. It's what happened with what I just uploaded, the painted background was too plain, so I experimented and added some oil pastels on top of it... And you are very welcome, it's a pure pleasure to encourage good artists

The colours are magnificent. The stars are such a nice touch. The whole image seems magical. It would make a wonderful desktop and I downloaded it for that purpose. One last request. Would you consider converting it to a print? I have a perfect 12x16 (print size about 8x12) black frame for it with a black and red matting. I buy prints from artists I like...please see the section of prints I have bought and framed.... [link]
