Description
A poster for a non-existant feature film version of the comic book "The Darkness". As fake one-sheets go, this one's a favorite of mine (along with my Trigun poster).

This was made last year for a contest sponsered by Comics2Film and Top Cow Comics; the object was of course to make a movie poster based on The Darkness. Given the character's highly detailed design, I almost didn't enter at all, but finally decided "F*ck it!" and tried anyway. I used a picture from the comic as a template for Jackie Estacado's right arm, I pieced together some model photos for the body, and used Ethan Hawke's face (Most other contest entries used Johnny Depp or Tom Cruise, so I decided to go with a slightly different choice). Most of the little goblin-like critters were made from scratch, and some were made with help from comic book images.

As for the contest itself, the entries were divided into the two categories; Teaser and Release (posters w/ full cast and crew credits). Mine was in the Release category and placed first! Interested parties can find the full contest results, complete with all printed entries, in Inferno: Hellbound #2.
