Description Kashanbo is a Japanese Yokai monster folklore in Wakayama Prefecture.

It is believed to be Kappa moved into moved into mountain. Its height is as much as 6 or 7 year-old child with a dish on its head and wearing blue cloth. Only dogs can see its existence. It hates human spit. It swims Kumano River up to its origin, walks into the mountain. When passing by a village, it throws a pebble into houses to let the human know it's came every new years day.

It acts just like Kappa that messing with domestic animals like hiding a horse working on a field, spitting on cows. When farmers left ashes around farm house, there were some tracks of bird-like traces next morning.

In 2004, Shirahama town, Toyoda, Wakayama Prefecture, some strange foot stamps found on a rice field. It wasn't by any animals or birds. Local newspaper reported as Kashanbo's.

Some modern cryptozoologists think the Kappa was inspired by the Japanese salamander. Great Illustration!
