Description Uminyobou is a Japanese Yokai monster that is a folklore in coastal area like Izumo, Shimane Prefecture. It is a kind of Iso Onna.

In Izumo city, Shimane Prefecture, Uminyobou appears with a baby in arms. One day, an old man in a house noticed some strange eyes looking into the house from the window. The man hid himself and witnessed Uminyobou broke into the house with the baby in arms. Uminyobou held the baby in one arm and lifted up a heavy stone rid of a pot by other arm. Then she picked up some salted fish from the pot and ate it. When she got out, she said "Where is that old man, I wanted to eat him".

In Sanriku Coasts in Iwate Prefecture. A wives of fishermen were worried that husbands hadn't come back yet. Soon after, Uminyobou appeared in human shape and brought a wrapping. In the wrapping, There were full of beheaded fishermen's heads in it. Uminyobou described as fishermen lost in the sea so she returned them to wives. Wives screamed and freaked out and threw themselves into the sea. The dead wives tuned into Uminyobou as well.
