s DAZ&PhotofiltreMeine Beitrag zu Socky's Contest bei den , in dem es diesmal darum geht, den eigenen Lieblingsspielcharakter in seine (möglicherweise?) bessere Hälfte umzuwandeln.
Wer von euch mal "Hordes of the Underdark" gespielt hat, erinnert sich vielleicht noch an Halasters Unterberg und den Spiegelsaal, in dem man, wenn man unvorsichtig genug war, gegen sein eigenes Spiegelbild kämpfen musste. Hier scheint einer der Spiegel einen magischen Kurzschluss zu haben, was meinem Waldläufer Schattenfell eine Begegnung mit seinem ganz besonderen Alter Ego beschert.
This is my entry into Socky's genderswapping contest, which currently is held by the #DA-Gamers . The challenge is to show one of your favorite video game characters turned into the opposite sex. Here you have my ranger-rogue Shadowfur stumbling into his female self.
The folks amongst you, who had played "Hordes of the Underdark", certainly remember Halaster's Undermountain and the Hall of Mirrors, where you - provided you were incautious enough - had to fight your mirror-self.
Well, it seems, one of the mirrors got some kind of magic shunt fault ...

No, it's not a screenshot (a screenshot from the game would be looking like this: [link]
It's a 3D render - meaning you work with wireframe models, which you shape and place into a scene and give certain textures and lighting characteristics before you push the "render"-button and sit infront of your computer, waiting for the result. Something like that: [link]

I was gonna go all nerd ape shit and say that screenshots weren't allowed on the contest but now I'm jealous of your skills! I was starting to get confident about winning this one which my shitty Jill drawing ([link] ) but you're definitely gonna nail the fuck out of that contest because to be honest, this looks WAY better than the screenshot that you showed me xD

Ahhh - you shouldn't worry too much about the contest. As far as I know, most of the fellas here can look "behind" the surface. They see and value the effort and love one puts into his work. And they will have a look at an artist's unique style. And last but not least - it's always a matter of taste, too.
I always bow my head, when I meet people like you, who have a direct connection between head, heart and pen. Who can just paint what's in their mind and don't need of a stupid computer to do so.

Well, to be honest, I do believe that using a computer to create art as as hard, if not harder, than making art with a pen a paper lol
From my point of view, I'm not an artist XD I just copy what I like and used to like when I was younger... It's more like a hobby lol

It's Neverwinter Nights, the first computer game I ever finished - and the only game that I'm still playing again and again from time to time. The graphics are not so "polished" as in Dragon Age - and I remember that I had to install a special blood patch to get a better "look and feel". But the characters became so ... vivid to me. I really wish, I could adopt some of them ...

It really took me some time to figure out, how I wanted them to look at each other. Finally he got some kind of amused frown while she was supposed to look slightly annoyed. But in the end lighting and refelction seem to come up with other expressions everytime I look at them.
So - what's going to happen next? I have no idea. Really!

I really like this - and the mirror fight was one of my faves too (I found it weird, however, that my mage's clone was EXTREMELY weak)!

The fight wasn't too hard for me either, but still challenging. A weapon master's Ki-strike hurts badly, really ...

I simply love the composition and the whole idea. You could have just modeled Teloki as a girl, but no, =shoughad takes it even further, invents a story to the whole thing and allows the two of them to meet. I love it!
Especially the way the bows cross is astonishing for me.
