Jack Rye and Sheridan are my original characters. Yay
Violet the daywalker was created by Prof Nekko.

Here we have a demonstration of a commission piece based on a request given to me by Prof Nekko.
I asked a series of question to take extra measures that would be more accurate as to what he envisioned.

The initial request was the following:
“Anyways I'll think I'll have you draw a color anime version of my OC Violet (most details on physical structure are here [link] ) as for dress on her, she wears a black cape, but the rest I'll leave to your artistic inginuity (though she doesn't go naked under the cape).

As for her action, she could be selling Sherri a little tool to help her win over Jack's attention to her feelings (I can't really decide, maybe a book titled "how to win over an oblivious male" or something along those lines) She's holding the object in her left hand, but scratching Sherri's chin with the right, giving a rather wicked smile showing off her fangs, and asking "And how would you like to pay for this?"

as for the background, Violet's shop would suffice (read the bio for a little bit in and you have a general idea of what the shop would look like)

Right, onto the art comments.

Here we have Violet, a short tempered daywalking vampire that burns entire cities to the ground, locks up the tastiest victims in her cellar for later feeding, and runs a shop that sells crazy goods.

When thinking about her shop I stuck myself in the crafty predator's shoes. If I were a vampire who ran a shop how would I run it? First, no lights in the shop; Vampires can easily see in the dark while most people can't, giving her a nice advantage, particularly during the night; plus, it's fun for people to feel uneasy in the dark.

Secondly, almost all of her goods would either come from victims she's killed or victims she keeps locked up in her cellar until they die. So in the image we have an Axe of Ice, a Kris of endless poison and other stuff that she collected from daring adventurers. Jack seems to have stumbled across a holy spell book and holy water from a priest that was foolish enough to think he could slay Violet. I very well couldn't show all the store in a single frame, but it’s LOADED with all sorts of stuff, and if an axe of freezing is right on the wall, imagine what's behind the counter. (I personally doubt Violet would even bother with any of that stuff when she has both her dark powers and fire magic at her disposal.)

To show that Violet can do just fine in the day, I made a point to have the window open and have the light land on her. It also hints towards the darkness of her shop, so imagine coming into the place at night ha ha.

When designing Violet herself I got some specific instructions from Pro Nekko, which only helps me get more accurate to what he wants. I was permitted to design her clothes under her cape. I wanted to combine the three elements of a sorceress, and a sexy van Helsing lady dress together. Her cape has a hood to lay low and inconspicuous during travels, but underneath is a full bodied woman that could drop the guard of her prey. Originally the dress was going to be a solid dark purple, but when Prof Nekko said he wanted red lipstick, I decided to change the purple to more of a burgundy/mauve.
Her eyes were another matter. I give kudos to Prof Nekko for the green eyes; they really stand out on her character in a good way. For her hair I made the highlights a crimson red, kind of hinting towards bloodstained hair that will never wash out from her countless victims.

We have Sheridan blushing at the fact that violet easily noticed her affection for Jack. Rye himself is completely oblivious and delving into older versions of holy texts.
