This is a portrait of my oldest cat, Missy. Blue-cream tortoiseshell, semi-long haired kitty. She will turn 15 on December 1st, 2010. Born in 1995, it is believed Missy's previous owner was an old lady who passed away. As an unnamed cat, she arrived at the local RSPCA about 5 years old. Mum bought Missy, perhaps knowing kittens would have been sold before a an 'older cat'. Missy came to live with our family. When she first arrived, she was fighting the feline flu, and recovered well. Missy hated being picked up all the time, and ran away from me and my sister a lot.
Missy has always had a wonderful personality though. Sure, she's a little grouchy... but she is also very loving and loves to follow you around and be cute. She eats a lot, but due to what is suspected a hyper thyroid she's very light and thin. You wouldn't know through all the fluff!

Recently, Missy's been urinating blood though, and the vet suspects the kidney's failing is the problem. She is on anti-biotics and painkillers, and I really hope it's enough. But I don't know. Missy is an old kitten now, and finally showing signs of age. I really hope she can keep fighting. Missy's presence in my life makes it better. I love her very much.

Out of fear of possibly losing her soon, I feel so helpless. Drawing Missy's Portrait certainly hasn't changed anything but it was doing something... I just don't know what more I can do to make her problems go away.
