Description
I've had this thing forever, I just never posted it anywhere. Annnd its more of a species than a character, but I do have a few characters within the species. This lovely lady isn't one of them, she's just a random design.

~Info that nobody cares about~

-The reason for the masks is because if two of these guys look each other directly in the eyes they either instantly die if they're weak or if they're strong they get really sick to the point where they'll die anyways unless someone cares for them for awhile.
-So on a mask if the eyes aren't focused the creature(I need a name for them...) is happy/in a good mood but if they're focused they're either angry or super anxious.
-Horns show age by pairs. So no horns is a child, 1 pair is a teenager/young adult, and so on. Chin spikes count as horns.
-Colors just show the region but can differ depending on the tribe(cold colors for north, warm colors for south, etc.).
-Teeth are decorative.
-Ears show if they've got a mate or not.
- The cheeks show the gender, if they're blank or have circles on them its female and if they have a stripe coming down from the eye its a male.
-The eyespots show that its lower class. Middle class has eyebrow looking things and upper class has spikes.
-The creatures can walk or float, they usually "swim" through the air to get around.
-The mask floats rather than being attatched
-The creature's take pride in making their masks unique but they all follow these guidelines and generally have the same basic feel to them
-The creature's themselves can be any really dark color so blacks, dark greys, deep purples, etc. all appear in the species
-A creature's gaze is not lethal until it is 50 years of age so masks are not worn as an infant
-The creatures can live to be up to 10,000 years old
-They've got two thumbs, one on ether side of the hand
-Have only a little more mental capacity than a human
-Some who wish to make themselves less vulnerable will purposefully gouge out one of their eyes as then they cannot kill or be killed by the gaze. This is highly frowned upon in society and in some communities those who do this will be cast out.
-A third eye marks an herbalist or shaman, while fur around the mask shows a warrior(can be retired)

tl;dr version: the masks mean stuff and the creatures fly through the air 8D

I'll make a decent species sheet one of these days. And yes I'm still doing those trades/commissions I'm just overloaded with school work and needed a break
