Fallout 1 and 2 are among the best rpg games out there, still wicked games to play. The new ones (fallout 3 and new vegas) are ok, VATS and slo mo stuff is fun to use, but I still prefer the older ones where turn based combat was dead fun and great isometric sprites followed by written descriptions allowed the player to use more imagination.My designs are based on 1 and 2, tried to capture the dark and grim post apocalyptic atmosphere and humour of these fantastic games.

This is why I would like to try out Fallout 1 and 2. This is amazing! Does anyone have a suggestion of which one to play first? I know the obvious choice would be the first, but I've heard the second one is better.

And I agree, something was lost in the evolution of the franchise. My favorite episode is Fallout Tactics. I've played it so many times, and it's still fun. F3 and FNV are very fun, but too buggy. I would have preferred maybe less pretty graphics, but more consistency in the world and less crashes. Ah well, can't wait for F4

F3 and NV has many many more places to discover when you roam the map freely which is the best part of them but other than that they both fall flat. they need some proper skill based combat and the bugs need to be ironed. Probably F4 would be no different with same or better graphics. I guess I have lost hope from a new release. Β I played fallout tactics for a while but it was more of a spin-off focusing on too much combat (as the name says) so it isint really a bad thing but its not my cup of tea. i prefer more wandering around and doing stuff.Β

I agree, the free roaming is definitely the best part 
I hope they keep all that.
And we need a better combat system, of course, that's one of the flaws of F3 and NV, it was really frustrating.
FTactics did it right. Even with the static POV the combat system allowed for complex tactics and the fact we could create and control a whole squad was really fun.
Ah well, at least F1-2-T still work on Windows 8, I still play Tactics and F2 sometimes

Exactly, too many cool moments to mention but here is a favourite moment; working in the porn studio for quick cash and getting poisoned. Brilliant.

I like the part in Fallout 2 where you go down below the outhouse and place the bombs, and then the fecal matter goes in all directions after you escape. Gross, but really funny if you like excrement jokes. I cannot help but laugh.

I remember the belching guy on the oil tanker ship where if you challenge him to a belching contest, he will belch even louder!

You never get to see them detailed in the game but they felt much more scary due to their high attack, armour and speed. You die most the time you encounter them.

Hallelujah, someone else who acknowledges the awesomeness that was fallout 1 and 2. Most people think fallout 3 or NV now, I still think Lone Wander or Courier nowadays, I still think Vault Dweller and Chosen One, lol. Awesome pic, keep up the good work.

I think f3 does a good job with exploring and wandering as the map is much bigger compared to f1 and f2 and you get to find interesting locations so often but it lacks good dialog and addictive turnbased combat and gets monotonous real fast.

I agree. Personally I believe F3 was made "real time" due to the current popularity of game such as Call of Duty and similar real time games. If not for them I think F3 would have been turnbased. F3 and NV and definitely interesting and I plan on getting my own copies soon, rather than a friends, but F1 and F2 will always be my favs. To bad my pc wont play F2.... sucks hardcore.
