I know you all HATE me for my cliff hangers x3
I think this page came out almose exactally as I planned it
I'm so happy. Also, we're starting to get into the real storyline and not just the fight scenes. 
MINI CONTEST 6/24/08 Ok so simple. The first 3 people who end "It's because..." with the funniest and most original pharase get a free sketch from me.
Rules:
1. Can say anything as long as it is not offensive to the comic, society etc...
2. Illustrations are welcome as well.
3. Leave the pharase or the illustration link in the COMMENTS of this deviation or else I WILL NOT check it.
Prizes:
1st place gets: one inked and colored drawing of any personal character.
2nd: one inked drawing of any peronal character
3rd: one sketch of any personal character.
Contest ends on 7/1/08. No extended time will be given.

Oh wow. That last shot with the eyes was absolutely marvelous! So intense!
One thing though - what was up with the lone patch of circular cross hatching along Articus' jaw/neck? It seemed out of place.

The subtle background works really well with the focus on the two characters, while still portraying a sense of an immediate threat with the colours.

It's good to see you're making progress with your comic.
One thing, the page setup is a bit confusing. There's no panels to direct where to read next. This page isn't too hard to read.... But....
How you just have close-ups of their faces, just swirls to represent the conflict between them... It's a good idea, but you shouldn't over-do it or gets confusing.
I suggest making sure you have basic scenes in each page, showing where each figure is in the situation(well you can get away with it every so often but yeh). Although you did illustrate their fight, I'm not fully sure where each wolf is now.
Did articus get up? Is he still on his back?
Also be sure to make dialog 'realistic'. As in, what people would say in a situation, not statements overloaded with formalities.
Either way, I love the very last part. It builds a lot of suspense to keep the audience reading. Also that you did an awesome job with drawing/coloring the eyes. :3

The page setup was a little confusing I'll admit but most panel-less pages are. I did it more to challenge my artistic abilities then to make a typical paneled page. I don't see a lot of comics on DA be very versitile with page setups so I just dare to be different. I get what you're saying though but even pro manga artists have these ungodly confusing pages on occasion. I know I read A LOT!
The original concept of the page showed part of articus that was still laying down but I ended up cutting it out and placing in the eyes which I personaly think looked much better.
I get what you're saying about the dialog. I would have made it more 'realistic' if it fit Coal's character. She's a very formal, regal and proper character so even in battle she ... how should I put this... remembers her manors. So that really was me trying to put her character out there, not to sound like an english major

Lols manors. I see what you mean with that, it's alright to have a character with formalities.
I just wasn't sure, I'm getting tired of seeing comics/all characters in RPGS(or anywhere) who are constantly formal. Ya know?
