Description This photo was taken near Mammoth Mountain in Eastern Sierra Nevada, California. The trees were killed by carbon dioxide in the soil, caused by volcanic activity. The Mammoth Crest is visible in the background.

an interesting place, but with your other photo people said "oh thats sad" and "oh how unfortunate" but it is natural, so how can that be sad?

it was 3 shots with 2 stops inbetween each. I agree and don't find it sad. I find it interesting and beatiful in its own way.
