Description More children's lit! This time Lyra and Pan from Philip Pullman's classic His Dark MaterialsΒ series. I'll confess I only read this series last year - I remember picking it up when I was 13 or so, but not feeling very interested in the second novel after reading Northern Lights. Bit of a rarity, that. Glad to have finished the series this time around, a lot of good stuff to be had! Especially the whole notion of daemons. Wish I had one of those!

Lovely little tribute You might be interested to know there are other books as well! Lyra's Oxford, which was a follow up story of sorts, Once Upon a Time in the North which was a prequel, and Book of Dust which just came out and will be another trilogy. The first book taking place when Lyra is a baby and the other two once she's grown up and after the events of HDM. Happy reading!

Thanks! I've heard of Lyra's Oxford before, but didn't know Pullman had started a sequel trilogy! Might check that out next time I have an opening on my reading list Have you read any of them yet?

Not yet on Once Upon a Time in the North, that was a shorter novel like Lyra's Oxford. But I did read Book of Dust vol 1, it just came out days ago. And it was excellent! It's set entirely in Lyra's world with some fantasy elements that are new. The ending seemed a bit rushed but over all it was very satisfying and well worth the wait.

Yeah, I love the daemons too! Best thing about the book is, it works out with the real word (universe wise). I watched the movie when I was little (the golden compass) and then read the books, and now I kind of feel like re-reading it. I wasn't happy with the ending though.. >___< I think I might take a look at northern lights while I'm at it
Pan is very cute in your drawing~Β Β

Ahh right, the film was interesting in its own right ^^ I struggled a bit with the ending of the trilogy as well, mostly because it felt a little preachy to me. I liked how it was bittersweet, though, even if it hurt a bit
Glad you like my work!Β

I just really love happy endings, and i felt they both deserved one so I was quite sad.Β

I also just realized that northern lights is the title of the book, sorry if I've confused you. Since I read it when I was younger I didn't read it in English, so I didn't connect these two. ^^Β Β Β

They definitely deserved it! Felt bad for the two for sure, but I think else it would've been to sweet for my tastes. And no worries, I figured you meant something else Book titles get confusing when you read them in different languages
