Wanted to take a break from drawing only pretty boys and girls, I don't practice drawing older people often enough So, decided to draw the protagonist from the novel The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro, one of my all-time favourite literary authors. I love this guy's style and both The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go had me in tears - it just feels like the writer spends an entire novel on build-up where nothing in particular seems to happen, and then he makes you feel the gravity of all that 'nothing in particular' with one poignant phrase or image. So yeah, I was very pleased to hear Ishiguro won this year's Nobel Prize of Literature
