This is my entry for ~Raynestone 's contest, to design a mare for the very handsome Raven. (He was a lot of fun to color, hope I got him right!)

So, meet Soleil. (soleil - so lay) In French, her name means 'sun'. She's a dunalino mustang, and you can't tell in this picture, but she's also got two socks and a dorsal stripe. Soleil can be bubbly, but she's also very calm, patient, and stubborn.

I got really into this contest, and I actually wrote a short paragraph from Soleil's point of view...but I have no idea where it is now. This is the general idea of what I remember:

Since they first met, she's intrigued by his handsome looks and quiet, lonely manner. Not wanting to overwhelm him, Soleil slowly drew herself near him more and more frequently, letting him get used to her presence before trying to really get to know him.

"Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us." - Samuel Smiles

Maybe she can cast a little light into Raven's shadowy world, eh? *nudge nudge wink wink*

I'm not a big fan of the background, but it's my first ever attempt at one, so hey. I may change it, though. Who knows.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun with this contest, and I'm so excited to have Soleil as an OC now, no matter how she does in the contest. I love her, and can't wait to draw her more.
