Okay, so this is for *Equinus 's contest to design a mate for Corazon. So here they are, Cora and Teo, enjoying some playful flirting in the moonlight.

Teo is short for Teodoro (Theodore), in Spanish, which has some kind of Greek origin meaning 'gift'. (Technically, 'gift from the gods', but I thought that sounded a little cocky. )

Teo has a deep blue-gray coat, and thick, dark hair woven through with strands of electric blue. He is a FriesianAppaloosa cross and has a white ring around his left eye, and both eyes are blue. He loves nighttime, particularly when there's a full moon, and at times prances about through the trees like a yearling in the soft glow.

Teo was born a headstrong, adventurous and kind-hearted foal with a (borderline corny) sense of humor. He spent his days frolicking with the other foals in the herd, often taking the lead in their daring escapades, and worrying his mother endlessly- though he never meant to. He simply let his free spirit guide him.

However, all that would change. Teo was still very young when he and his mother became seperated from their herd, and he quickly began to mature as he became his mother's closest, and only, companion as she became ill. For a while, it was just the two of them, until she passed away, leaving Teo alone and now, friendless.

He wandered alone for weeks, maybe months, lonely and heartbroken until another herd took him in- however, the lead stallion was exceedingly harsh and demanding, and Teo, unfortunately, became a common target, perhaps because of his slightly different appearance, or perhaps because of the easy way he related to the others. He remained with the herd for months, and eventually decided that not even his deep cravings for companionship, for at least friendship, were not worth the abuse he was dealt. Still heartbroken from the loss of his childhood friends, and the passing of his dear mother, and his confidence shattered by the cruelty of his new lead figure, Teo slipped away from the herd without a second glance over his shoulder.

He spent years wandering alone. Now and then he'd come across another herd or a small band, and while he might travel with them for a time, weeks or months, he'd never found a place he felt he belonged.

And then, he met Cora. At first, he'd regarded her as he would any other horse, but that was quick to change. The purple mare sparked something in him when he'd thought there was nothing left to him. Her easy, loving nature made him feel again, brought him back to a part of himself he thought had died with his mother and had been lost forever.

It was Cora who taught Teo that the world wasn't made up of all the horrors and heartbreaks he'd seen, it was Cora who showed him that love had not died.
