Temperament: Merlin can be quite unpredictable, hence his name, Magician. One moment he can be as cool as a cucumber, standing still and relaxed, but the next minute, if he hears a sound or smells something unfamiliar, Merlin can set himself off into a frightful haze. He's known to be a bit of a drama queen and does overreact to minor things, such as the sounds of lawnmowers or the gentle crunching of gravel. He's not necessarily green however Merlin's antics do act up a lot more often under saddle, though some thoughts are that it may be because he's a lot harder to handle because he's a stallion, however a breeding is wanted from him in the future, and so he's being worked on to aid his problems ASAP. Despite the fact that Merlin participates in in hand showing, he still needs to receive some care when it comes to the safety of himself and those around him when under saddle. As mentioned earlier, his unpredictable and sudden flashes of emotion can be dangerous to other horses, so more often than not Merlin is housed in his own paddock like stallions should be, though he is next door to his neighbours.

Biography: Merlin was born on HC Yard to sire HC John O' Gaunt and his dam, an unregistered mare named Gemstone. There isn't much of a defining history to Merlin, besides the fact that he was broken in here, first ridden here and represented the yard in his first show as a colt. Since then, life has been very normal and uneventful, though Merlin has had his moments of throwing his riders over fences, into fields, on top of cow pats, onto concrete and into puddles. There isn't anything he won't throw you into or onto.
