the element of cruelty.now this pony's coloursheme was REALLY hard to balance, but i wanted to make it work.
i hope i've succeeded.

She kind of reminds me of this girl I was friends with. She was mean, abrasive, and got agressive with you if you rubbed her the wrong way. But when it came down to it she had a chocolate core she didn't want to show and was always ready to back up friends, including old Scyther.

That's the problem with cruelty, there's always someone who will find what is cruel to another to be enjoyable to them.

I think the colour scheme is fine. It's lavender and red though, they're not contrasting colours, they're close to complimentary I'd say. Unless you meant choosing her colours to best emphasise her personality?
As an element of cruelty I would have implented sharper corners in her design, but I like what you've done with her regardless. Though that is entirely reliant on how show accurate you want her to be. I'd change all kinds of stuff to the mane cast even, if I ever got round to it. But that's all preferential. Went on a bit of tangent there.

i'm trying to handle the whole series as if i were writing/drawing for the show, so i try to keep it accurate as possible. as for the colours, i had the inital coloursheme here: [link] , but had to experiment a little to make it more pleasing to the eye. the lavender tone came when i applied shading, funnily enough. works better now.

The mane cast is kind of copypasta distinguished by palette, eyes, and hair so that's not too surprising...
Only so many color combinations exist.
