Description The Japanese Tanabata, the Chinese Qi Xi, and the Korean Chilseok all refer to the (Lunar calander) seventh day of the seventh month and is related to the love story of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, although celebrated very differently depending on the country. In Japan a bamboo tree is decorated with paper ornaments and also with wishes written on cards.

I'm not sure if the custom was around during the Warring States period but if it did, I bet young Nanashi would have made a wish like this! (and feel terribly embarrased whenever it comes back...) He'd have made the same wish to Santa Claus if he knew about Santa. Meanwhile Itadori is trying very hard not to laugh.
