Wonderful! It's so cute and spunky, yet rather classy (very Meg Giry!). And it is masterfully made. Brava!

Looks great! I love those boots.
I'll regret it that I didn't choose costumemaking as one of my courses, our school has wonderful collection of textiles. Maybe my Red Death project would be alive then. (It died after purchasing textiles)

Thanks!
That's too bad about the project. Maybe it will come back to life one day? I have a Red Death in the works, and boy has it been an interesting challenge.

I've batted around the idea of making this costume for a while, and I think you've just made me decide to go through with it. The likeness to the professional ones is incredible - well done! The detailing on the jacket especially makes me squee.

Oh, now that is a very nice compliment! I hope you do go for it! And of course, if you do, please post pictures.
I love the colors and contrast of this costume. It's a lot of fun to make. I'm not an expert seamstress, but if you ever want to swap ideas, I'm always open!

Mm, I may have to take you up on that. I've never done anything drastic aside from repairs and helping with the occasional musical production, but I think this one is simple enough to be a good place to start. I'd loooooove to tackle some of Christine's costumes someday.
Thank you! And you're welcome (conflicting comment is conflicting!)

Well, you can always message me anytime. I love costume talk!
I like making Phantom replicas because, with all the different productions, you have some breathing space for personal adaptation. And yeah, this is a good one for time, fabric, and money. Relatively speaking, of course.

Breathing space is always a good thing. I love having the freedom to focus on certain pieces of a costume, and taking references from different productions is the perfect way to do so. Maria Bjornson was a true genius, no question about it.
And thank you again! Costume talk is indeed always a joy.

You are extremely talented. I wish I could create costumes half as well as you have created Meg's Masquerade costume.

I posted a link to your deviation over at a Phantom forum I frequent; we have a thread about stage show costumes... many of the people there really liked it too!
