This quote about sums up how I feel about the announcements of the new Star Wars films. Don't get me wrong, I'll a go watch the crap out of it when they hit the cinema's.... however, there is only one trilogy ("and it ain't of the King, it's of the f*cking Jedi" - Clerks II).
Anyway, I was checking out the Star Wars website and I came upon this fantastic cover art of the EU book "Choices of One" about Mara Jade Skywalker (www.imagebam.com/image/c8f0dc2… ) and having some time to spare I thought I would make my very own replica of the cover. I once again used Candice Swanepoel as de model (sorry, got a thing for her). The background isn't mine, except for the fact that I photoshopped it a little, so credit for that goed to the original designer. As always, it's done in photoshop and I hope you all like it.

ps: I know about the troopers in the back, yet as for the design it self it didn't bother me. Couldn't find a good storm trooper version.

Love this cool pic. Been a big fan of Mara Jade since they introduced her in the Thrawn Trilogy. I've read the book 'Choices of One' (and every Star Wars novel for that matter) and I thought it was a great read.
Love that lightsaber design too. Is it your design and what inspired it?
There's a book called Sacrifice in the Legacy of the Force series with another cool Mara Jade image. You should check that one out.

Wait a minute Mara Jade shouldn't have Clone troopers behind her, she was born 35 years after the events on Star Wars episode 3 by that time the Clone troopers; their name, genetic template and armor were all retired by that time.

Actually Mara Jade was born around the end of episode 3(roughly) and she is actually about the same age as Luke. The book 'Choices of One' was about how they 'almost' crossed paths just after the Episode 4 events. It was the second book based on that. The other was called Allegiance.

Just the way the story played out.Remember these events take place between ANH & ESB. But Mara and Luke don't actually meet until a few years after ROTJ. During ROTJ time Mara was actually tasked by the Emporer to kill Luke before Vader could get to him. There's a chapter in the book where they literally almost cross paths, looking at each others POV of the other.
Mara's POV of Luke is some kid with a lightsaber merely waving it around, more luck than skill. Luke's POV of Mara is a skilled lightsaber duellist who he thinks could teach him about the Force. He doesn't know she's the Emporer's personal assassin, and she doesn't know that he is the one that blew up the Death Star and that this is who Darth Vader is looking for.
What I love about these two books is that it not only 'almost' crossed their paths before they were supposed to meet, but that it painted Mara in a different light. Up until these books Mara was considered nothing more than a cold assassin, but these two stories look at her like a naive kid, like Luke, believing everything she doing is for the greater good, because that's what the Emporer is telling her.
By the way.Here's another twist. There's a squad of stormtrooper deserters unknowingly fighting for the Rebellion, while actually working along side Mara.
