Whoo!

So, in the aftermath of being led on, I had a lot of pent up emotions: sadness, betrayal, anger, hopelessness, self-pity, and lots of other things that are oh-so-pleasant. Now, two good things came out of this emotional debacle; I became a stronger person (and avoided a relationship that, given this guy's treatment of myself, wouldn't have worked out anyway), and when I go through a wild flurry of emotions, my pencil seems to create wonderful, dynamic sketches of it's own volition.

This is one of them - inspired by the intro part of Brave, where Merida spins around on the cliffs by the great waterfall. The body language is such a cathardic release, it helped me heal and grow out of this whole ordeal.

What started out as an almost sad picture became this wonderful picture of release and freedom and joy. I hope you get that, between the pose and the colors and the painting technique (a wonderful new style I tried on a whim, and just ran with)
