Description "Wow, what are all these heads?"
"These, Daniel, are the Faces of Nova. You must meet each."

A collection of status faces for Team Nova, a Pokémorph (plus one) combat team at Pokémorph-exclusive (except one) Pandora High.

The idea for these status faces was inspired by a game called Azure Dreams, in which a character's portrait changed depending on the character's status. They're currently being used in a Flash animation I'm working on for school.

From left to right:
Neutral: Nothing bad or good going on with this character. They're just... OK.
Plus: More positive than negative status effects on this character.
Counter: The character is about to counterattack.
Minus: More negative than positive status effects.
Weak: The character is at Critical HP (<25%).

From top to bottom:
Amanda Charon, Charmander: The team's leader. One of the few students who uses a weapon to fight.
Chelsea Cooper, Squirtle: The healer and defense specialist. She and Amanda are usually seen together.
Bud Milo, Bulbasaur: The physical powerhouse. Calm and reliable, he acts like a big brother to the team.
Flint McGuffin, Pikachu: The all-around fighter. Also the cutest member of the team.
Loid "Duster" Jones, Human: The support specialist. One of the only two humans on the island, the other being his father, who is researching anthro society.
Ian Fox, Ninetales: The special attacker who is very good at evading attacks and being excessively silly.

These six characters play a major role in a Tales of Xinia prequel/sidestory I'm writing. How this is so, I'm not saying. At least, not until enough of Books 1 through 3 are revealed so as to avoid spoilers.

Now I'm officially interested! This is quite clever, and it reminds me of the character portraits in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon.

I guess I was also thinking of that, but the idea of using them in combat to show status is from games like Azure Dreams. And SMRPG, now that I think about it.

I think I've heard of that game... Never played it, though.
