Re-submitted as the last one went funny!This is for a Ringu project my boyfriend is working on. He wanted a static-tv effect on a picture of Sadako, and this is what I did. I just used the graphic pen effect in Microsoft Photo Editor. It's nothing amazing but it's what he needed.
As it stands this is likely to be a WIP because 1) I know what he's like, he'll change his mind at some point and 2) either of us may come up with better ideas as time goes on. For now I would call this a piece of inspiratory art for him.

I've come to love and fear japanese horror deeply..lol.I study Japanese so i guess it helps if you're familiar with the language.....ringu, unlike the american remake is a "slow burn" and as you get into the story you really feel the kind of terror in it... what's best about ringu is the fact that it's not overdone and doesn't have too many jarring chords in it.
sorry I'm writing so much....it's just people don't seem to understand that the japanese version IS the best version and the original....filmakers in america seem to remake everything that comes out of japan -
the grudge and dark water both from japan.....there are probably more...japanese have a knack for what's horrifying....

Oh yeah, I've seen that. Didn't find it scarey though, it got kind of boring. I suppose having to read subtitles doesn't help much!

You know the film 'The Ring'? 'Ringu' is the original Japanese version. 'Sadako' is named 'Samara' in the American films.

OMG, that part freaked me out soooo much! *in the japanese version, the english one wasn't NEARLY as scary*
i really like the tv affect, it tells you a bit of the story just using one picture.
