Description Sitting on the lone branch, wanting to fly and join the flock, but the clouds of insecurity stiffen your wings.

Very melancholic, that's right. These thoughts come every time I see on social media friends having a good time /or at least so it seems/ and wonder what's stopping me from being more outgoing. I'm not that much of a shy person and I speak my mind but bonding with other people it's entirely different. I always have that feeling someone's going to make fun of me while I'm trying and this most likely comes from my subconscious unrealistic goal of being liked by everyone. Like something saying 'Either everybody will like you or nobody'. A thing I'm really trying to overcome...

Anyway, this was started around 2 weeks ago when the weather was rainy and cloudy, and I finished it today when it was also rainy and cloudy, haha. I learned some new things about Paint Tool SAI which I feel will really help me in the future. But I really need to work on my vision in the artworks first, it is the most important.
I tried at last to put my signature somewhere, but it's almost invisible /let's see who can spot it XD/, so next time maybe. Lately I managed to practice drawing some animals and started a new acrylic painting so I hope it's finished soon. ^^

Thank you in advance for your favourites and comments!

You really improved between your last digital piece and this one. I can see you understand how things fade in the distance and once again your grasp on lighting is phenomenal.

My main critiques for this are probably that the bird looks a little too big, maybe because some of the branches I view as off it's same branch are meant to be further behind. But that leads into my second one, keep the background stuff up behind the bird too. Your composition is here, but lacking. My art teacher always told us our pieces had to 'move', or rather, that a viewers eye had to find the focus and then easily travel along the rest of the piece. My eye doesn't travel. It stays on the bird. A good way to move it to your other GREAT details would be to put some more of the dark and contrast (even if it's the faded out) branches from the bird's main branch down and over towards the other prominent branch. It just needs a little more guidance towards the next logical eye focus.

Overall though, great shading, lighting, and color work. I'm so glad I'm finally catching myself up on these.

Looks like that's a new edition of Leafpool and the rock, called the magpie and the rock. XD
I've heard about 'the travelling eye'Β and now that you were saying it I even got ideas how to do it. My art teacher showed us a picture of the Rococo era and explained how the scarf of the lady leads the viewer's eye towards the door.
Thanks again! :3

Thank you, Cuin, your support means a lot to me!
Usually the type of artwork I go for is artwork that has something to say. I also love reading what the artists have to say about their work, the story behind a drawing is what really gets me.
