This was my entry for the "Warm vs Cold colours" contest at .

Sadly, I didn't win. Judging by the winning entries (which were all great!), I interpreted the theme a bit too freely, haha. Oh, well.

I wanted to draw something more complex, but due to the fact that I only found out about the contest a week before the deadline, and school is being hell these days, something relatively simple had to do, which would allow me to show off my color pencils skill, but which I would also finish in time.

So, as the title of the contest says, the theme was "warm vs cold" colours. I didn't want to go just for the "warm and cold colors" thing, though, instead I tried to find something from everyday life which would fit the theme well, too.

(Though please keep in mind that all the shadows were created by using a mix of warm and cold colors, no black was used in this. )

The contrast between warm and cold colors is present too, of course, in the background vs girl's face and clothing, but I decided to make it a bit more subtle.

So... Who hasn't tried catching snowflakes with their tongue at least once in their life? (Provided they live in an area where it snows occasionally.)

The tongue is warm, snowflakes are cold, and it's a battle of life and death.

Okay, maybe I am the only one who sees the connection here, but this was still fun to work on! A bit different than my usual manga style, haha.

And I am so printing this one into a Christmas card for my best friend this year, lol! :3
