...Now that's got your attention stop looking at the badly drawn boobs!Yeah... this'll be the last one I'll be doing on the subject of the way the inflation artworld is going. I'm glad to see that so many of you agree that in some parts of the community things are starting to get worse. Only parts. There are some which are getting better.
No offence to anyone (unless I'm aiming it at you.) but there are some people whose art... well everyone I've talked to agrees it is horrible yet people still fav it and give them praise and... I really don't know why. I know this because I'm pretty sure because the views of that last comic went up skyhigh and I kinda think people just looked at it for the boobs and didn't even read what I had to say. So it's not just me doing a one man army sort of thing.
I'm not trying to be a git by doing things like this but some things need to be said.

I drew it badly on purpose, I was trying to make a point about the people who do mass art that hardly shows any effort yet they are praised for it.

Ok...but whats wrong with that? If you become famous for producing something that loads of people want to see, then that fame is still only a by-product of everyones tastes. Maybe their taste sucks, but you cant undo it. I appriciate that your only having a fun lil stab, so thats cool I guess. Good work!

There's a lot of theorys behind this phenomenon that has suddenely appeared, I guess it's kinda like how do you mix fantasy and too much fanservice on a whole new level... but I'm not going into it any further then that... this deviation = so true

Couldn't agree more. As much as I stick up for inflation art on DA, that's the one point that some people make that I have to say I agree with. No matter how bad an inflation artist is, they're bound to have favourites and more comments than most rather good artists get... But I don't think they should be blamed unless they are intentionally doing it to get popularity. Who should be blamed are the fickle and easily swayed people who comment and fav these images blindly. Sure, even bad artists deserve some attention to keep their morale up, but too much will just make them think they're better than they are...
Plus it gives the community a bad name, taking attention away from the fact that there are some very good artists involved in it. But yeah, enough of that. Funny comic

tom, you are not american. it doesn't matter how evil your hand was, it would not have been able to vote for bush. i think its ok to fav bad art if you really like the idea behind it, and surely the inflation thing, it doesn'tmatter if your good or pants, people who get off on it just like the idea of stupidly large breasts, the art itself is fairly irrelevant? tell me if i'm wrong, i have actively avoided the area.

I've seen some of the stuff you're spoofing, but generally ignored it so I had no idea stuff like that got fav'ed so much. I've even read one or two inflation stories of equivalent quality that got 'woot! Great job!'s despite myself having a reaction akin to hearing Vogon poetry. I guess you could look at it as masses who have absolutely no taste, or simply that there isn't enough of the quality content coming from artists like Critical Volume (would call him Crit-sama, but that sounds kind of dirty if you say it with a Japanese accent), Blooberboy, and CattyN back when he was doing a lot of inflation art. If people don't feel like they're getting enough, then that probably makes them more likely to fav something that's cheaper and mass-produced.

I agree on the fact infaltion art is picking up...but the fact such copycat artists will cause hte ruin of the inflation community as a whole I dont agree with ^^ Its sort of like..a renassiance...it may actually become something that deviants wont scoff at anymore if enough artists do it.

?!? ... dude... art is art, no matter how bad the animation may be... I've got admit that my work isn't top notch... but I can't knock other artist for trying there best. Most of us started our work like theres... and there always needs to be some kind of time and hard work put into it. Trust me... I havn't been able to trace a goo face in a while!!! so I do the face in a different pose, or add something of a cruch like Inflated parts or extra hair to the area's I don't wanna mess with. If an artist can get many favs from bad or half assed sketches, then there has to be more to the inflation and the style then your looking at... in a sense I get you... but at the same time... you seem abit closed minded for an artist to me. No offense but If I kept naggin' my brother about how he sketches like Maverick 124 gets on me... He would've quit long time ago and asked me to do all his charaters.

It wasn't aimed at you... to be honest... it was more aimed at one person... I'm still not going to name who... but everyone who does know has agreed that this one person has been getting more attention than he should. I mean... if you took a character from an anime but you just traced it and then altered the breast area a little that's not exactly, in my opinion, art...
But maybe you're right, maybe I'm making a bigger deal than I should.

I can see your point and I agree to certin points... but I also got most of my skills from tracing other charaters in there poses before I started to doodle my own, then going for Off-the-top sketches, so I see another artist expresing there own style. not something to find evil, or wrong... just to show his love for the art game. And I think I have an idea of who your talking about... and this is abit much for one guy to get...

Well bursting isn't really my thing but I wasn't actually having a go at that genre.
I um... read your latest journal, and i just wanted to say that I apologise if this offended you and others, I was aiming at someone in particular and probably doing this wasn't justified, but I just want to say that I don't see myself as a good artist, but I do not trace images from animes and then alter them slightly (ie give them bigger boobs) and pass it off as my own, which was why I did this, along with the fact that no one seemed to mind said person doing this practise and faved them and gave them nothing but compliments but no real critisim none the less.
I know I don't have a right to judge anyones art but I just wanted to give my opinion and it seems from this comic that a lot of people have this problem with this certain person too...
But like I said, I have said all I had to say so I won't be continuing this 'bashing' and I apologise once again for any offence I may have caused you or others...

Honestly I neither know nor do I care why people fave certain things, but I do know what I like. Take this comic for instance, I recognize the point you're trying to make, but I find the art neither appealing, nor do I find it amusing. However, since I'm one person and you've got lots of people who like it, my opinion means absolutely nothing

Actually that's not true when you say thing like that it means a lot. I wasn't trying to be amusing but I used that bit at the end with the evil hand to soften the blow. The art is not my best work granted but I didn't exactly do these little comic strips for the art point of view.
I don't mind if you like it or not it's like people thinking that the BBC series 'The Office' is a piece of comical genius. I however do not find it funny.
But you took the time to actually say what you thought and in the end that is what counts, so thank you very much, I'll take what you said into consideration.

I dont understand how artists like the ones decribed can gain such popularity for such poor work. I mean, I personally put a lot of effort into my work, yet I dont think I've recieved a single comment, positive or negitive.
Oh well, I guess sometimes it pays to be obscure...
