This theory first came to me when Jinenji stated that Rin resembled Kagome. Yes, I know she's made to look like Kikyou because she's her reincarnation, but with Kagome also looking so much like Rin (even more than Kikyou, I think), it made me wonder if Rin is actually Kagome's ancestor. It would explain why Kagome's family has knowledge on demons, it's because since Rin is so close to Sesshomaru that she would most likely keep the knowledge of demon existence known in her family while the rest of the world forgot they existed after they went extinct. Why would her family, out of everyone, be the only ones who knew about demons, and the art of warding them off?
Likewise, I also theorize that Rin ended up with Kohaku, and he is Kagome's other ancestor. Just look at her brother. He's a dead-ringer for Kohaku, especially when he got older. It makes sense that Rin and Kohaku got together and Kagome and Souta's are their descendants. And don't give me that "Rin ends up with Sesshomaru" nonsense. That's a very popular fan-shipping, but it's not canon. Sesshomaru and Rin have a parent-child relationship, no matter how much fans want to believe otherwise. And there are countless reasons as to why they wouldn't/shouldn't get together, while Rin/Kohaku not only makes sense, but there were hints to romance between them, and even Sesshomaru accepted him. So it's likely that he would only allow Rin to be with someone he deems acceptable.
Kohaku also got close to several demons like Sesshomaru, Kagura, and Kilala, so he too wouldn't want the knowledge of demons to die out. At the same time, he also knows the dangers demons represent, so along with preserving the fact that demons once thrived, he would also see to it that his and Rin's descendants knew how to protect themselves in case they ever returned. This is why Kagome's grandfather knew spells and such.
Anyway, that's my theory. Any thoughts on it?

Not sure if I agree completely on this, but Rin & Kohaku being Kagome's ancestors would be an interesting one. Rin's life would have been shaped very much by Sesshomaru, and she would have something special with Kohaku, he'd be the most likely person she'd settle with once older. Another thing to note is at the end of the series Rin is staying with Kaede. Kagome at the end of the series would have remained in the feudal era, working to become a priestess. Perhaps Rin being around Kaede and Kagome would lead to her becoming a priestess as well.
It would also make things interesting if Kohaku was also her ancestor, in a way that would tie Kagome to Sango and Miroku as well.

Concerning Sesshoumaru, I think he'd eventually find someone.
For some reason, I don't think his future mate would be youkai, though.
Seems like he'd end up with a human for his wife.
However, I doubt that human would be Rin.

I don't know about that. Even though he's mellowed out a lot, with the exception of Rin and Kohaku, he still holds all humans in disdain, and he still despises half-demons. Any children he has with a human would be half-demons. Also, since he's basically a prince, he would need to have a "worthy" heir. But you're entitled to your opinion.

For Sesshoumaru, change does take time. Even a change in opinion.
Because of Rin living with Kaede, he'll have more exposure to humans.
And it appears to be that there's somewhat of an esteem between him and Kaede.
Or, at least, some trust.

I have a theory that if any friendships were to be made by Sesshoumaru
it would be the Miroku and Sango's family. Rin hangs out with them, alot.
Again, it won't happen right away.
He has to trust them first.

I know Kagura was his implied love interest, but he did seem to have some history with Touran, and she seemed to have a thing for him, and they knew each other from the past, and she was of similar ranking. I know she was an anime only character, but I could see them getting together. After all Ayame was anime only too, yet she ended up with Kouga.

I loved Kouga too, especially the way he kept messing with Inuyasha. I could actually have Kagome ending up with either him or Inyasha. I did like that he ended up with Ayame though. I know a lot of people didn't like her, but I did.
I do wish he took a more active role in Naraku's defeat though.

I'm satisfied with Inuyasha and Kagome ending up together, but yes, I did feel that he didn't really deserve her. I understand that he was conflicted since he still loved Kikyou, and the fact that Kagome was her reincarnation, and looked and smelled like her must have really been hard on him and mad him indecisive, but it was his neglect and his treatment of her at times that ticked me off. I mean, it's obvious he loved her too, but geez, he could show it a bit more, even if he was cautious from having his heart broken.

Don't get me wrong, I love Inuyasha to death. He's adorable! But, yeah, there were times I wanted to kick his rear end!
Sesshoumaru is undoutedly my favorite from Inuyasha. But just like his half-breed brother, there were times I wanted to smack him as well.
I was never too fond of Kikyo. And throughout the series, eventhough, I was well aware that Kagome is her reincarnation, I had a very hard time seeing it since they are SO different. That must suck to have a pre-incarnation with no sense of humor and much duller than you.
To be fair, when Kikyo finally said bye-bye, I did cry. Not so much for Kikyo.
I was affected because of Inuyasha.
But yeah, if Kagome would have ended up with Kouga, and that would have been an interesting twist to the story to break the mold of predictability, I wonder how that would have gone? Interesting. Man, I still love Kouga's legs. I actually drew Kouga last night. Planning on turning him into a painting.
Ayame, as you put it, didn't annoy me. She was just protecting her interests.
What did bother me about the series, though...to much going around with the incarnations.
Although, I have to admit, I did like Byakuya.
Now, Naraku...what a... grant it, I felt sorry for him in the end...sort of.
I actually did a painting of him years ago, and enjoyed doing it.
His hair was so much fun!
I don't like the fact that he's a bastard but I guess he wouldn't be a villain if he weren't.
But, tossing that fact aside, I find him sexy.
Would I go for a guy like him? Definitely, not. But, he's sexy.
Along the way, there were very interesting characters like The Band of Seven.
I haven't drawn him yet but I think Bankotsu would be interesting to paint esp. his clothes.
I also like the doctor. He'd be interesting.

No, I'm pretty sure she was a full-blooded demon. Naraku was a half demon because he was made from Onigumo and a bunch of of other demons. He took the pieces of those demons to create his incarnations. So they were full demons since they didn't have anything of Onigumo in them. The webpage even classifies her and his other incarnations as full demons.
And yes, I could see Sesshomaru and Kagura together. It was very clear that Kagura loved him, and there were several hints and implications that Sesshomaru had feelings for her. He didn't show his affection for her as much as he did for Rin, but the signs were still there. It actually really pissed me off when they killed her off. Kanna too. I think they both should have survived.

I dunno....all of the more important characters, especially the girl characters look similar in a way or two. And they all share some qualities....but there's also some distinction as well...I dunno, but I can see a possible ancestry line here, and personally though I am not fully convinced, wish it was real ^^
