Alright, this is just screaming for me to rework it, but it will have to do for now.

Firesong K'Treva made for character contest.

Alright heres the background and story behind this awesome character.
Firesong is a character from Mercedes Lackey's Heralds of Valdamer series.
He is a Teyladras, a race of people whose customs are much like those of Tolkien’s elves- without immortality. They are keepers and protectors of the land and its magic. The Teyladras are also known as Hawkbrothers because they are each paired with a bond-bird. A bond-bird is a bird of superior intelligence who is able to share a link with their “owner”- however the term partner would be more accurate. Firesong’s bond-bird is a Firebird named Aya. Aya is much like a phoenix, only he is not made of actual fire but his wings do cause pseudo-sparks to fall as he flies.
Firesong is one of the best and most accomplished mages in the history of the Tayledras. As a mage he utilizes specific energies to work magic, energies which cause the bleaching of the users hair and eyes, thus the reason his hair is a silver white, and eyes blue. Aya is also affected by this bleaching and instead of being red and gold, his feathers are pure white.
There are several categories of mages.
Apprentice- student.
Journeyman- senior student.
Master-intermediate
Adept-expert.
However Firesong's abilities go one step further. He is a Healing Adept which allows him a special connection with the world around him, and gives him the ability to tap into deeper energies.
Despite - or more like because of- his superior abilities, he is a “eacock“. He is vain and somewhat arrogant, enjoying the fact that he is obviously beautiful and talented.
Despite his shortcomings Firesong has many friends- which he makes and keeps easily- but for a long time, no significant other. He is clever, a magical and tactical genius, and has an uncanny sense of humor.
Along with many other characters he is pulled into an incredibly large war and is forced to fight not only a darker mage, but Mage storms which were created about a thousand years in the past, and are now rebounding back through the energies of his homeland.

As a last note, all Tayladras take a use name such as Firesong, Steelmind, Silverfox, or Darkwind. Each name is made to fit its wearer and is many times based on a significant event or accomplishment in the person’s life. It can be changed by the person, however frequently the name sticks. Firesong’s use name is mostly based of his bond to Aya a Firebird. (im sure there is another reason as well but I don’t remember) The last name K’Treva, is more of a title. It denotes that he comes from the K’Treva Vale (Tribe).

This will be changed in the future, im not sure im completely happy with it, but it will do.
