Description
For my wedding I had to make 16 pairs of assorted demon and fairy wings. This one of the two pairs of demon wings made for the bride's men.Wings are named after my brother.
I would like to thank everyone that has either commented or fav.ed this piece. So far 'Jordan' and 'The Groom' are my most popular submissions.

The trick with all types of wings when it comes to support is a brace system. For all of my wings I create a box frame, the vertical sides is what keeps the wings in an upright position. Another option is what I refer to as a T bar; the wings connect to the top of the T while the trunk is slipped down the back of a corset or cincher.

Wire is pretty much a standard. I use a 14 gauge for my larger wings and 16 for some of the smaller wings. The first step is creating a full scale pattern and then drawing out where you want the wires to be, a typical procedure for demon and fairy wings.

These are fab, what material did you make them from? How long did each set take you, and would you consider doing commissions of them? Possibly in purple? If so, what price range would you say they'd be?

I believe those wings I used some form of textured micro-suede. I've polished the technique since then creating a more realistic look as well as the options for claw tips. So far, bjds (ball-joint dolls) have been my focus because of the shipping issue. However, I did manage to locate this pattern and it will fit in one of my large boxes. I do have a dark purple scale textured fabric, I'll try to add a picture of it to my gallery shortly.
Construction time takes around 5-7 days. Now days, a lot of it depends on general size and if claws are needed. Wings of this size would start at $60(the addition of claws would be more), domestic shipping would be $15.

Ah, thank you very much! I may opt for cheaper wings for the time being (the costume I have in mind is rather low-budget), but if I ever need a pair of quality material wings, you'll be the person I ask!
