Description
I had a strange desire to draw some fish lately, and thought why not some Dunkleosteus? Dunkleosteus were a group of prehistoric armored fish.
While gathering up some reference and doing a bit of research before sketching, I discovered some speculation on the possibility of these fish having lips covering those big gorgeous chompers. I thought Iād like to play around with that idea. It was difficult but fun working without any real references beyond the creature's skull.

This is actually an INCREDIBLY good speculative rendition actually! It makes the Dunkleosteus look like an animal with you can feel and touch rather than a sci-fi monster you so see in many a documentary.

Honestly, I could definitely see you as the artist for some scientific reconstructions of extinct life. Your artistic understanding on realistically placing muscle and fat over bones would do spectacularly in that context.

Thank you! Reconstructions are fun, and I would like to do more, but I admit my knowledge of anatomy could definitely use some more work.
