I wonder how hard it is to see trough the helm due to the shape of the eyeslits?

Depends on the lighting.Β In a well lit room or outside, I can see fairly well in front of me, but obviously no peripheral vision.Β In the dark expo hall at PAX, I could really only see shadows.Β It was enough to get around without crashing into things, but I didn't wear the helmet for that long because of it.Β Dark Souls armor is not very practical in real life XD

A bunch of em, aye.Β Thorns armor? Smough? Not to mention Xanthous', and dont even get me started on the Smelter Demon's.
Obviously, the best armor to wear in real life is The Mask of the Father. This will strike fear into any opponent, and you wont have to find your way on touch!

Hey, when wearing that mask, all you need is tunnel vision. Everything in sight then is IN THE WAY, and must be terminated with extreme prejudice.
