Description
He got into my head one day and would not leave me alone. This did not come out as well as I had hoped, but it's been a stepping stone of sorts as far as developing technique is concerned. 16x20" Oils on illustration board. Will be up for sale once the paint is completely dry and I get the varnish on it to seal it. Critique is appreciated.Related content

the colours used, the background and those crystals are simply wonderful!
but I think you should work a bit on horses - they are very difficault to draw, I know, and to learn how to create them good we all need a lot of practice

The featherring on the wings is just amazing! The head and neck bother me slightly but otehr than that, its really an awesome traditional work!

Yeah, they bother me too. While I was working on this I could not figure out for the life of me what seemed off. Im debating if I want to go back and mess with it more or just redo the whole thing. I like the idea, but that painting just irritates me because of all the errors.

The neck seems a little long, and maybe the legs a little short, but I love the motion and position! Also, the wings and environment are very nice.

No, seriously, I'm really liking how the entire pose worked after you fixed his legs. My only critique is that the face seems just a tad flat in comparison to the definition to the rest of the body -- specifically the neck -- and the eye seems a tad too small, but then again, I don't draw animals on a normal basis. ^_^;; Otherwise, I really love the wings! WIIIIIINGS!!!

Yeah, it was irritating the crap out of me yesterday. Add into that the fact that Damien decided he was going to "help" and smeared paint all over the lower left corner, and then took a landscape brush and left streaks all over it.
