Description I'm sure everyone who knows about Sonic Adventure 2 (even if they haven't played it) knows this scene.

Throughout the game, Shadow was determined to avenge Maria's death that occured 50 years ago by destroying the Earth. His plan was going exactly the way he wanted it, but then Amy confronted him and helped him remember Maria's true death wish, which was not for revenge, but to help the people on Earth. He then completely put aside his wishes for vengeance to help Sonic save the Earth, sacrificing himself in the process (although he actually didn't die...)

Anyway, I re-created that scene to commemorate the 14th anniversary (which is on the 19th!) of this ultimate hedgehog! Happy Birthday, Shadow!

Thank you! That's what I find really interesting about Shadow's character in that game. Despite how destructive he appears to be on the outside, he is constantly haunted by Maria's final words. These words are always his driving force - they represent the last bit of good left in him which he's trying so hard to hide.

I completely agree. People seem to have forgotten his true character, and just mistake him for some emo, heartless mercenary. It's really sad when you think about it, that he made a sacrifice that big for humanity (despite how much he loathed him) yet no one appreciated or even knew what he did. The Shadow shown in Sonic Adventure 2 is and always will remain the true Shadow for me.

I haven't played the game, but such a cool story... also, this is coloured really well and I like the idea of Maria to let know that Shadow's thinking about her... good and the tear on his cheek makes the scene even better nice job!
