When I was little, I used to fastfwd this scene on VHS. (No DVDs back then)
Why?
Because...It scared the f*ck outta me when I first saw it, and I was too scared to watch it again. X(

It must be something to do with a combination of the ominous latin chanting, the spooky giants in the red robes, the fact that he's singing about his lust for Esmeralda driving him insane and the terrorfyingly amazing musical score which is why it scared me sh*tless as a kid. XP

Basically, too mind-blowingly awesome for your young mind to handle? XDDD
But it's cool, we've all had our share of Nightmare Fuel from Disney, though I can't personally recall my slice of it... XD

Ahhh, viimeinkin paikkasin tietämykseni ja katsoin tuon elokuvan. Mahtava kuin mikä, onneksi en lapsena nähnyt tätä koska olisin luultavasti saanut traumoja O.O (Mufasan kuoleman yms jo ennakkoon arpeuttama).
Ja Frollo? Loistava. Ei yliluonnollisia voimia mutta sitäkin julmempi ja itsetietoisempi.

Yeah i found that song really dark, especially when his fireplace malfunctioned and the red hooded dudes turn up. Frollo looks well awesome there.
Awesome job.

Often-ignored list??! WTF???! Just because Esmeralda isn't one of those silly "Princesses"?!
Disney.... pffft... they never knew when they had something *really* valuable and original in their hands.....

That's actually quite true. I'm very puzzeled about them pimping out their new crap *High School Musical and some of the new cartoons and movies for one* while it was their old material that really touched the majority of this generation. I know you gotta move on in life, but to completely ignore like it never happened...? =____=;

Gee, I know fans like Norrington, I don't know about the other two... Did those guys even get enough screen time?...
They gave attention to the HoND sequel???!!! What happened in it?..... Did they soften the edges??.
Hercules is cool. I'm totally in love with Woods' Hades. And I looove the songs. This film is a modern American myth after all, what can I say?
But if not greeks, WHO were the complainers of the myth changes?!
Too americanized, yes, in the sense that.... we just don't get the joke. We can't see Jimmy Stewart in Hercules, nor Barbara Stanwyck in Megara, nor an athlete's agent in Hades.
You sure they didn't offend the chinese with Mulan???.. I mean, she doesn't even look as if she's THAT chinese.... I don't know, magic crickets, funny ancestor ghosts, dragons and all...
Experience with US???!!! Believe me, they could never give a crap about us. I remember a greek journalist in an interview with Alan Menken, and he asked him why he didn't use A BIT of greek music in the score, say bazouki music, instead he used something totally irrelevant, gospel music, and Menken was "down on his knees" saying sorry sorry sorry in a parallel universe I would have used greek music..........
What???! What's to apologize about?! As if!!!

Pintel and Ragetti? They're these two. And they got more screentime in the later sequels, so it figures you don't recall them all that much.
And I've been actually smart enough to stay away from HonD 2 so far, but I hear it was about this band of thieves arriving into Paris to steal this super-special-awesome bell from the Notre Dame, and Quasi falls in love with one of their girls. The cheesy trailer of it is enough to keep your five mile distance. xP
Well, the usual fans and extemists of course! Who else can make more noise and complains than the "old school and original"-fanboys? I know the Americanization can boil your kettle too much, but sheesh, even well after 10 years people just can't STFU about it. -______-; I had never heard of the Menken interview though, kinda akward for him to be explainng himself to actual Greeks about his freedoms with the music... Must've just really loved the idea of black women singing Gospel more than actual Greek music. O___o;
No, I heard Mulan was a major block-buster hit and very liked in China. I heard some of the only ones mad about the movie were super-feminists, but it's kinda hard NOT to upset them, you know? XDDD

Holy crap this is awesome! I love this song, especially how "Heavens Light" is the interlude, FANTASTIC DUALITY. And you are fantastic for capturing Mr. FreakMan Frollo at his creepy stalker glory... pre-passing out in front of the fireplace from that last intense note.
Applause all around.

Wow!!!! This is gorgeous! You've totally captured that scene in the movie, and that's not even my taking into consideration the wonderful shading and coloring job!! Oh, and the composition, too. XD
Gorgeous, really. You've got the forebodingness of it down to a T.
And AHAHA the fireplace-trouble line made me chuckle. I need to watch that movie again - haven't in a while.

You think so? As I've watched the movie more recently at this age, I've come to think of Frollo as actually tragic and sad in the end. O.o Plus more memorable and powerful Disney-villian too! ^^
Thank you! ^^
