Ugh, good luck with your Black 2 Nuzlocke.
I tried 5 times and the best i got so far was 4th gym.

Guts + Toxic/Flame Orb is not bad, but Raticate's defenses are low, yeah. Wonder how you got one that far!

I didn't say "how you got one", I said "how you got one THAT FAR"... Unova is a very brutal region. I've had close calls on really strong PokΓ©mon - including my Arcanine in another run - so I can't for the life of me figure out how I'd keep a Raticate alive, short of never having it battle.

I pretty much overgrinded every. single. one. of my pokemon before the 3rd gym. I also really didn't use it much. But it has Sucker Punch if everything else fails.Β
The 5th gym battle was only won without a death for me because i used leech seed on his Drill-thing and switched into arcanine to flamethrower it. It was a lucky guess that it didnt use a ground attack.
I honestly want to read more tbh xD

As for switchbaiting, I kid you not, I won against Iris' Hydreigon in my other run (White 2) because I had a Zoroark. I had him disguised as my own Arcanine to make Hydreigon use Surf, but U-turned in its face instead, switched to my Haxorus to take the Surf, and KOed it. Had the prediction been wrong, I'd have probably lost. o_o;
Well, you will read more! I'm 300+ pages in and I publish 3 per week!
