This is the 4th & last pic. in my element series, and I have mixed feelings about it. Drawing the background and the bouncing boulder was a joy. However...after spending more than several hours drawing & redrawing Toph's figure, I'm still not completely happy with the result. The temptation is to keep at it until it's perfect, but for me the idea of doing oekaki was to learn to draw more quickly. So I decided to let the pic. stand as it is, and move on to the next one.Toph and the Avatar TV show are (c) by Nickelodeon.

I finished it and THEN decided that Toph's left hand should be better positioned, so that she could either punch or push that rock away. We got us a case of limp wrist here.

AvatarSpirit had a Christmas theme contest in Dec. Other than that I don't know of any okaki competitions.

I love the background! That is wonderful!. Hey, I have had many many drawings that I was not totally happy with but with time, you will see what is bothering you. ^^ Me, I personally love it. The only thing I would have done differently is have the hand that is showing flat facing up as if she was gonna push it. But, that is what I, notice the I, would have done.

The hand is one of the things that bother me, and.....I think that I should have drawn her left foot flat on the ground. It would be soooo much easier to correct these things if I had seen them when the figure was in the sketch stage.
