Wow, I just love how you highlight hair! How do you now which colors to choose to highlight and shade? (obviously something lighter and darker , but still, how do you choose them?)

About drawing the hair: I drew the base shade (the darkest color), using the hard edged pencil tool. Then I added a new layer and drew a Z pattern in the hair following the line of the hair, in a lighter shade of the base shade (the medium color), again with the pencil tool. Add a third layer, and using a fuzzy brush tool draw a line across the Z, in an almost white shade. The next part requires patience. Using a hard edged eraser tool erase the color on the third layer that lies over the darkest color. I hope that this makes sense.

Wow, that sounds really complicated. I sort of understand (though I'm not really familiar with the tools (or maybe I know what they are, I just never caught the name for them )). I'm sure lots of layers is what makes you tick! And that's just the hair! You have some real passion and talent to produce those images! Go you! I'd probably stop at the hair and just have some random hair floating around... And that might scare small children.

Thanks! I like the way the picture looks. I just wish that I had planned on her looking that young. Oh well...it must be one of those "happy accidents". I'm glad that you like it!
