dude, that's sweet. I learned stage fencing with a professional, but never with a real foil/epee/sabre. It was for our production of R+J, and we simplified by using long wooden sticks with duct tape on one end for a handle. I wish I learned the real thing, tho. Must be fun!

Oh, fencing is a brilliant sport. Look it up and see if you have a local club, I've never met a fencer who didn't want to teach someone. It's really different from stage combat though. I took a course at college and had to re-learn practically everything.

haha...yeah, stage combat is more like dancing than fighting. You choreograph, you call your "opponent" your "partner," and the entire aim is NOT to hurt anyone. But I love it all the same.

Yes, but it's also pretty like dancing. Unless you fall over. Then it's just funny. Especially when that fall is unplanned, and then after you perform people congratulate you on that perfect fall.

hahaha...good times in combat class... I have the opposite happen when I'm in plays. I fall on purpose, because it says in the script, and then immediately the person who was supposed to drop or push me ask if I'm okay. Hopefully, we will be able to eliminate that habit by showtime.
