Another Metroid fan art....this one was inspired by a pic I saw a long time ago, but it was a painting, and an awsome one at that! Wish I could find it again! I also know that the contrast is bla, but that will be fixed in a later post.

Any who, the skeletal dragon is Ridly and the Metroid is in the container.

Little bit of a back story on the two. In the third Metroid instalment, Samus (yea!) has been to the aliens' homeworld, SR388 (again) and has distroyed the Metroids completely. However, while erraticating the remaining eggs she stumbles across the last one...which hatches and thinks she is its mother...stuck between a rock and a hard place, Samus feels compelled to care for it...I mean, she isn't completly heartless.

So, the baby Metroid ends up at a labratory.

Soon the space pirates (I always laugh at that, the creators could have come up with a more creative name) get wind of the last surviving Metroid and send their 'best' pirate...Ridly

This bad boy is one of the toughest bosses in the game...not to mention he never seems to die (he's in every Metroid game and is flying around in the back ground of the Metroid stages of Super Smash Brothers and SSB Melee) in the third Metroid he is (I think) the last boss before the main baddie and the end of the game.

Any who, he breaks into the Lab and steals the baby Metroid right infront of Samus...bad idea...he escapes and now Samus Aran has to go chase him down and teach him that just because she couldn't distroy a potentialy deadly killin machine doesn't mean she can't fill a nasy dragon full of lazer cannon holes!
