Description "Aut caesar aut nihil" - emperor or nothing.

Poor Cesare aimed for the caesar, but in the end just got nihil. Bucketloads of nihil.

Also, FINALLY a Cesare-picture I'm happy with! And not only because of, you know, chains.

[edit] Wallpaper based on this can now be found at [link] Made it for myself but figured maybe others might want to use it, too. X3

Indeed! Cesare doesn't strike me as the type to ever truly admit defeat or lose all hope; he's a fighter and would keep on fighting, scheming and clawing for victory to the very end.

And that's the only right way to go for such a person.

How the mighty have fallen. Emperors and Kings rise and fall like the wind. Woe to the vanquished...

There, philosophical moment done. XD Anyway, great pic, very well drawn.

Moahahaha~~ Nearby, no doubt!
Either he's just left and Cesare's dazed expression is a post-coitus "I'm going to kill that mangy fox so DEAD..." or he's just about to show up and Cesare's crouching in the corner trying to convince himself that Volpe probably slipped on a roof-tile on the way here and broke his neck. Yes. u.u

This! This so much! The shadows! The details! The wall!

While I think that game!Cesare totally deserved everything he got (he made real Cesare look stupid), I kind of pity the real Cesare Borgia. I mean, people disliked their family for being Spanish, after spending most of his life doing what his father wanted he died at 31, they took all his clothes and later even his tomb was destroyed. He didn't deserve that.

I'm glad you like it.

I keep my game characters and historical figures carefully apart - while it's amusing to apply real historical anecdotes on the game characters, they're not the same people at all. I find game!Cesare quite adorable, but not at all an accurate representation of the real Cesare Borgia, nor a very flattering one.

CerberosIVthHead In reply to silvestris [2011-11-24 15:17:31 +0000 UTC]

True, it really wasn't a very flattering portrayal, mainly intelligence-wise. Sometimes I think it's sad that most fans only know that game character, but then I see other people get to know the real character or produce wonderful art because of the game and then it's all better again.

I shall openly admit that it's primarily the game character I appreciate. I am impressed with what the real Cesare accomplished in his short life, but it's the game character I find adorrible enough to make fanart.

I remember that story

though I can't help but think that he wasn't thrown in a cell, but was kept locked away in a room; maybe not as fancy as he was used to, but at least not locked away as a common criminal

except maybe when he was in that one prison thingy that was heating up so they could get information from him ...

Haha, yes, historically, this was most likely true. With AC-verse you can always play the "historical records were totally messed with by templars anyway" card to justify any artistic liberty, though. X3
