Demone and I, are always full of enthusiasm when we face a new competition. Here we are at Capuchino Horse stables for our show jumping competition. As usual I took Demone at the center one day in advance because familiarize yourself with the place and with the horses present. The first day I devoted myself to clean my equipment, leaving Demone in one of the paddocks.
Now the spring had begun, then towards the hour of sunset was still hot so I decided to prepare Demone for a small training.
I entered in the outdoor arena, the temperature was warm but there was still a very pleasant cool breeze. We were alone in the arena, around us there was nothing but the silent nature and a beautiful orange sky.
Demone seemed to like that little moment of our own, remained calm and focused for the duration of the workout, I felt only our breathing and the sound of his hooves on the wet sand. After warming dismounted and I put some jumps, Demone was stopped to observe me in mobile in midfield waiting for my return.
"Now we have fun," I whispered to my sample.
I arranged for the arena some obstacle height gradually higher, so as to not having to continually dismounting to raise the obstacle.
I walked to the first little jump, then threw myself on higher jumps.
I had positioned the jumps so as to be able to exercise on all types of shot, from wider ones to the more narrow and gauged. Finished the workout I did a pat to Demone, I dismounted, removed the saddle and rode bareback for a walk.
When the sun disappeared, I reported Demone to the barns and after having greeted and settled, I went to dinner and then to sleep.
"Wake up sleepyhead" I told my friend that “at the dawn” of the 10 am was still lying down.
As soon as I heard my voice Demone pricked up his ears and calmly stood up, walked over to me and nudged me with his nose.
I put a halter, I jumped on his back and we had a nice ride to the stables and the surrounding land, when I cleaned it so carefully put it back in the box and went to lunch.
When I returned he was already early afternoon, so I decided to tire it and prepare it for good in the warm up arena.
After rearing as usual in front of the entrance of the warm up arena full of horses, we enter in and warm up.
I began to worry, the jumps in the warm up arena did not go well at all! I could not even a distance and Demone the perfectionist began to get annoyed of all my mistakes, so after dealing with a jump performed poorly down in a sudden his head and began to bucking knew how to do it. I lost my balance but miraculously managed to stay in the saddle, I made another jump then I stopped. This was not the case to challenge his patience.
My turn came, I entered the arena, I salute the judges and began to gallop towards the first jump. My heart was pounding a thousand! It was not a good day for me.
"Please help me," I whispered to my horse.
I decided to let him. Wise decision. I faced all jumps perfectly with the help of Demone. I felt good at the end of the path and extremely happy that my horse and I had an excellent relationship. As soon as I left the arena I stopped to glance at the path we just did, so Demone took the opportunity to turn to me and looked at me as if to say "Thank me, stunned!" so I took the sugar out of his pocket and gave them to him.
Once again I had the confirmation that Demone despite its fiery and rebellious nature, he has a big heart to love unconditionally those who felt the same for him.
